PM ready for all party meet on women's bill: Pranab

Pranab Mukherjee said on Tuesday in New Delhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was ready to discuss about the women’s bill before it’s going to the Lok Sabha.

Mukherjee said, "There is no harm in calling an all-party meeting. The prime minister has pointed out that we can consult all parties and for exploring ideas and possibilities to narrow down the differences."

Mukherjee was replayed to a short discus in the Lok Sabha over the government flagship bill that seeks to standby a third of all governmental seats in India for women.

The bill, which is clamorously contrasting by the gatherings with quantity base generally in north India, was cleared by the Rajya Sabha. It is predictable to be presented in the Lok Sabha in coming days. The regulation has led to recurrent disturbances of the two houses of Parliament.

Meera Behn

Birth: 1892

Death: Jul 20, 1982

Birth: England

Meera Behn was born as Madeleine Slade in an aristocratic family in England.
She read Romain Rolland's book 'Mahatma Gandhi' and this changed her life. She came to India and remained with Gandhi.

Gandhi gave her the name Meera in view of her devotion to him and her dedication and service to India.

After she came to India she sent to Kanya Gurukul at Dehradun to study Hindi and scriptures and taught English there.

In 1932 she accompanied Gandhiji to the Round Table Conference. In Satyagraha Movement she joined and was imprisoned once with Kasturba and twice by herself.

On 9-8-1942 she was arrested along with Bapu and was in the Aghakhan Palace custody till May 1944.

On 18-1-1959 she settled in a small village near Vienna and died there on 20-7-1982. In 1982 January she was awarded Padma Vibhushan.
