Women journalism

Journalism is an interesting and brave profession. In Nepal around 25 women journalists from the Terai area joined to get trained on individual security, human rights, basic journalism skills, conflict and gender-sensitive journalism.

The training program is organized by UNESCO and the Nepal Press Institute look forward with the aim to help women reporters guard themselves and determination diminish the amount of violent behavior not in favor of them.

The training period will be for four months and it mainly focus on:
Personal security, Human rights fundamentals, basic journalism skills, Conflict, and gender-sensitive journalism.

The main purpose for the training program is that the Female journalists working in some areas of the Terai region repeatedly face risk for the reason that of their profession.

A growing number of women journalists declare in attendance are on the increase pressure from their families to get a hold out of the profession for the reason of such danger. There is substantiation that the number of attacks is escalating and the violent behavior is occurring in more areas of Nepal.

At the end of the training program, the newly shaped cluster of women reporters will be obtainable internships within different media houses in the country.
